How does the watch detect standing. My AW came up with 13 out of 12 hours yesterday which is not even close. Much of my time was spent driving from one customer to another and the rest of the day a good part was spent using my desktop.

Just wondering about the mechanics of standing and how the watch figures it. Maybe there is an adjustment.

It doesn't mean you spent 13hrs standing, it means you had 13 one hour periods when you spent at least a couple of minutes standing in each hour (the rest of the hour could have been spent sat down).

That explains it as I am up and down even at the office and most the drives to the customers are unde 30 minutes. So I am really satisfying the minimum standing time for each hour. Got it now.

13 out of 12 hours?

Yeah just like any other ring it's a goal, meaning you can surpass it. I once got 14 hours. You can increase you goal too if 12 hours isn't enough.

Done, moved to 16 hours now.

YEP! I answered before I made the change.

Went to change and it will only let me change the move/calories!

You can not. Only Move/Calories. I thought you could but when I tried, nada.

This is something I hope they change. As well as the exercise ring.

But I don't really blame Apple for starting "simple" and adding as they go.

I increased my Move Calories, so that is a bit challenging...which means more up and down, movement and exercise.

You guys are bauces. I wish I could get up to 18+

Drink an obscene amount of water before going to sleep. You should get a couple more hours worth of standing while you get up to urinate in your sleep. :p Of course, you have to be like me and wear your watch all day and night. I only take it off to charge for about an hour while I'm lying in bed winding down for the night. Then I put it back on before sleeping. Now I'm just waiting for a decent sleep tracker app on the watch.

I hope they keep improvements coming. Overall for a brand new product from Apple the software was not bad at all.

Bizarre. Today shows 3 hours of standing before 10 am. Then no standing credits or notices. Somehow without standing or a heartbeat, I walked 8700 steps.

Edit. All this is AFTER terrible 1.0.1 SW update.
