So I'm looking to buy a new MacBook, but I'm mostly concerned about battery life. I have to do a lot of work on the go, often away from sockets. Mostly light - medium usage: lots of typing and communication, with occasionally some photo and video work. So which one is going to last longer for that, the 13" or the 15"?

I have a 15" MacBook Pro for work and a 13" MacBook Pro for personal use. If battery life is your only consideration the 13" does last longer. Of the two, I use the 13" more than the 15". I like the 13" better. It is the perfect size.

That hasnt been my experience. The 15 lasts longer, plenty of posts on here to support that. Try a search.

I haven't tested them out doing the exact same things. I do not claim to be an expert but my work computer seems to not last as long as my personal. This could be due to Outlook 365 doing checks.

Well, theoretically if you don't use discrete graphics 15" should come on top: it's mostly the same Intel HD, CPU is fairly similar as well, so the only difference is 15" having a bit larger screen and quite a bit larger battery.

However, with the discrete graphics, it's a tougher question. There used to be a lot of cases where the 15'' was draining a lot of battery life when it didn't properly switch to Intel. But I still think it would come on top.

For the most part it is, I don't mind a stronger GPU but for my work even the basic Intel should be sufficient. I'm curious though if anyone has compared both and got any results?
