In September 2011, Macrumors User Renewed created the first Scavenger Hunt. It was very successful but ended on December 31st of 2011. (First Scavenger Hunt)
It's rather simple. I will start of by giving you a task, for example:
Hold up a piece of paper that says MacRumors January 3, 2010 in front of a Mac and iPhone.
Whoever completes this and posts it first is the next one in charge. You will give a task to do that involves taking a picture. The person will then hold up a sign/piece of paper with the date and MacRumors on it so that we know it was taken and not "googled".
For each task completed you get 1 point.
These are the rules:
1) No photoshop.
2) Please only post pictures of YOU holding the sign up this way you will actually have to go out and take a picture if necessary (or if you've got the time..which, judging by some of the posts counts here... I think some of us do.
3)No dupes - let's be creative.
4) If you are the poster who meets the picture challenge, please put your next request in a BOLD and BIGGER font so it's easy to find.
5) IF the challenge isn't met within 3 days the person who put the challenge up then has 12 hours to complete the challenge themselves. If they cannot complete their own challenge, they are docked one point and then pick a new challenge.
6)No challenge is to be made that involves any of the following:
* illegal activities (this includes, but is not limited to: guns, drugs, street racing, thievery, and sexual activities involving minors).
* currency (the participants of this game will not be limited to those with immediate access to large amounts of funds.
* Destruction of one's own property or any piece of public property
*for the slow people who haven't realized it... no nudity melrose
7) You do not need to be in the photo
8) There is no need to sign up- you just start playing
We will play until April 1, 2012. Whomever has the most points at that time will be the MacRumors Scavenger Hunt Second Edition Champion!
It ends then so we can have 3-4 games a year.
If you win a task then simply put your point count in your signature. At the end we will tally it up (hopefully we can keep a running tally) and declare 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!
***The Winners of the Last Hunt are Still being Tallied***
First Challenge: Post a Picture of a Mac with an iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad (1 or 2)
ALSO: As long as it's limited to narrow specifics like a MacBook Air ONLY, specific OS like 10.7.2 ONLY, and specific programs like Aperture ONLY, I'll be out of the game. That's the rub with making it so Apple-y. I like when it's things like a pet looking at an Apple product with interest, or going out and doing something fun with an item.
By being all specific, two people could get together with a list of Apple and other junk and trade points off, then take turns being the winner.
I did amuse myself by getting Spencie to wrap his head in toilet paper, I have to say. Carry on!
