Which Mouse?

What mouse do you use with your Mac Book Air? I'm looking to buy a mouse and want some suggestions. Magic Mouse is the obvious choice and I already know about that, but I'm not sold on it, so I guess this is a thread for Magic Mouse alternatives.

I really like the concept of Microsoft's Arc Touch Mouse. It's easily the most portable mouse I've ever seen because it becomes completely flat when you straighten it. Unfortunately, there are two things wrong with this mouse:

1. It doesn't support mac by default (although many users have gotten it to work)
2. It doesn't interact with the laptop's bluetooth but requires a separate bluetooth USB chip.

I'm partial to the Magic Mouse myself. There are more ergonomic mice on the market but all in all, I've been very pleased with this mouse

For my laptops I no longer use a mouse unless I am playing a game the requires it. But when I do, it's generally a cheap wireless Logitech mouse. Even when I used my Thinkpad and Dell Latitude I preferred the trackpoint.

The Magic Mouse won't take up much more space than the Arc when it´s folded. I personally had both and I prefer the Magic Mouse by far.

But f you don´t, and you don't care about the gestures on it then you could just get any other mouse. There are probably some very cheap basic ones out there that will work fine.

I'm a magic mouse user, but to be honest I'm not a huge fan. I find it a little heavy because of the batteries and it took a while to get used to the feel of it. I primarily use a trackpad these days instead.

I got a logitech M305, I got it after many users recommended logitech.
It is great.
I use it on my macbook air.

I've got a Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX. It's served me well, and hasn't given me any issues. My favorite part about it is the free scrolling wheel, that allows me to scroll through things really really quickly. (Clicking the wheel, does return its functionality back to normal.)

I'm a huge fan of the Logitech MX Performance mouse... it's always been the most ergonomic mouse I've come across. I've purchased two of them (well technically, I owned the original MX Revolution first, but it has since been replaced by this very similar version)

I do, however, use the magic mouse on my iMac, mainly for the gestures and the matching of the setup aesthetically.

*It does require a USB RF adapter... there might be a bluetooth version though, not too sure.

i used to use a magic mouse, but i got cheap with batteries. i'm currently using a razer naga. it has mac osx drivers with macros that work. i just use them for keyboard shortcuts.

I am a big fan of my Logitech G500. Got it fairly cheap, and it has a great wheel is very accurate and configuration for two OS works great.
Most of the time I just use the touchpad and if not I like the speed and accuracy of a mouse, thus I couldn't stand a Magic Mouse and similar nonsense.

I don't use a mouse with my Air, but on my desktop I use a Logitech MX air, it works really well and when you pick it up it works a bit like a wiimote. It looks great too and it's not too big.

I hate USB dongles hanging off the side of my MacBook, I use a Razer Orochi Bluetooth mouse.

I've had it since SL, but I've still got a Magic Mouse and Lion really does support the Magic Mouse very well.

Sadly the WiFi with bluetooth issue makes me use a dongle mouse thats always plugged in....new Logitech dongles are tiny and barely noticeable. Just wish they were 2 way and didn't make you take up a USB port....how hard would it be to put a female plug on the other end?

Again, I had a Magic Mouse, which is a great bluetooth mouse (sucks for gaming tho!) and the bluetooth wifi issue made it really annoying to use.

If you don't know the issue I'm referring to, its that if you are using bluetooth and put the MBA to sleep it will forget your wifi connection and say it is not connected to the internet and make you manually select your connection every time you start up. It was really annoying and turning off BT stopped it from happening.

Pretty darn impossible if they're to keep that super low profile you were praising in the middle of your post.

Someone I know uses Air with magic mouse and it never happened =/

On topic: I use Razer mice, am a fan of the basic Abyssus

the apple mouse just don't track as fast as the microsoft ones. that's the only downside.

Why not use the trackpad? It's my favorite part of my air. I have that Arc mouse laying around...works fine on my mac (well only used it on my old blackbook), it's...crappy. Doesn't feel all that great in your hand, scrolling is choppy and dumb, only two buttons, no gestures and stuff...

I bought the ArcTouch mouse to use with my Windows7 laptop. There is no comparison, the MagicMouse blows it away. First of all, the only touch sensitive part on the Arc is the silver part. I'm so used to the MagicMouse touch anywhere that I miss the silver part on the Arc much of the time and have to take a look at the mouse.

- the Arc is not bluetooth, it's some sort of RF
- the Arc works flawlessly with the Mac, you just have to download the Microsoft driver
- it's no more portable than the MagicMouse and I'm afraid of losing the dongle since it latches on magnetically, not in a secure slot. It's only about 2mm shallower folded and about 1.5cm longer

I ended up buying a dedicated MagicMouse for my MBA (mainly use it with Lightroom & Photoshop). I wish that I could use the MagicMouse on my Windows machine

Cant agree with the above. Magic Mouse has the worst tracking and close to the most uncomfortable mouse I've ever used. Yeah the touch sensitive scrolling has a cool factor but not any more useful than a scroll wheel, less so actually since it lacks tactile feel. It's just crap.
