Someone who is running Windows 7 64 bit natively on the 2011 Mac Mini Server can you run Core Temp 1.0 RC3 and let me know what the CPU idle power is?

Attached is the idle power for the 2011 Mac Mini i5 2.5 Ghz.

This is the location where you can find the software:
http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

Many thanks.

That power consumption is only for the CPU.

It does not take into consideration RAM, Storage (HDD/SSD), and all mainboard components (sound, ethernet, bluetooth, wi-fi, etc).

Yes, that I know and that is what I want to know. It will help with determining the CPU usage difference between 2 and 4 core at idle. Thank you.

bump

anyone?

(trying to determine if I want to buy the server or not)

took me quite some time to find the difference in power consumption between the i5 2.3 (base model) and i5 2.5 (mid model). It is approx 20%.

Apple themselves have the power consumption for the server (MC936): http://www.apple.com/environment/reports/docs/Macmini_Lion_Server_PER_20110804.pdf

If assuming that the earlier Apple document for the MC815/MC816 referred to the MC816 then this server only barely has less power consumption and the reported lower temperature is purely due to the higher fanspeed (2300 versus 1800).

All reports can be found here: http://www.apple.com/environment/reports/

Still need me to run this? I haven't booted into windows since the day I bought the mini. Just installed 8GB into her today, its a damn good computer for being so little and laptop components!

Edit: Decided to boot windows to update my "experience" since adding 8GB ram. Here's mine.

Thanks for doing this but I was after the results for the i7 2Ghz (quad core).

However I found some other results that basically answered my questions: the server and the i5 2.5 gh produce almost the same amount of heat and the difference in temperature is only due tot he difference in fan speeds.
