Cold backs. Add that to your list of things to look for when you're buying a tablet.

Obviously one of the first things to inspect when you're looking for a tablet are it's specs, but when I go shopping for tablets, I look for the ones with the cold backs.

Cold backs prevent your hands from slipping. iPads and other tabs tend to get warm.

warm > perspiration > slippage > broken iPad

Have we heard any plans on tablets with cold backs? What precautions have they taken to make the iPad some degree cooler?

I've never once felt my iPad become even slightly warmer than room temperature, nor I have ever had any trouble gripping it. I think you are insane.

Cold > Condensation > Slippery/Fried Electrical Components > Broken iPad

For me, I'm more likely to drop an iThing if it's cold. Too smooth and not enough friction. When I use my mother's iPad, I never notice it being particularly extreme to either side of the thermometer. o_O

It would never get cold enough to produce condensation. The back would theoretically be made out of a material that keeps it about 1 degree cooler- which makes a big difference. If a tablet gets warm, there's no way you could hold it properly with how thin it is.

I like using the iPhone and iPad while it's cold, sometimes I put them in the freezer.

You should seek help as soon as possible!

Are you sure it's your iPad and not your hands??

because that won't cause condensation...

I think I have to go along with you on this one.

In the freezer!!??

People do it all the time.

It comes from the folk tale: that if you put your iPhone in the freezer, the Wi-Fi signal would improve...

So people started putting their iPhones in he freezer (which was okay because Apple specs say that they can survive that temperature- and they can)

But then people started started liking the feel of it- and now here we are, talking about Cold Backs.

In other parts of the world, they sell them out of freezers.

This is obviously a joke. Nice try though. If you would have left out the freezer comment people might have believed you.

The only reason I put it in the freezer is because Apple tablets and phones don't have cold backs- well, not cold enough. The metal band helps, that's cold.

But some tablet manufacturers have taken this precaution.

The Acer tablets do.

Oh, well...great idea then.

Yup...go to it.

No problem.

Does your iPad or iPhone pick up any fridge odors or do you use baking soda to control this. That would be my worry but i am going to try it tonight!

How do you hear your phone ring in the icebox?

How has the OP not been banned yet? All he does is troll/start useless threads on this board.

I just picture the OP grocery shopping and hanging out in the frozen foods isle for 15 minutes while his iPhone cools off next to the ice cream cakes.
