Can you apply a fan discount on AT&T's data plan for the iPad?

I beg to differ. I do get a FAN discount however only on the $50/month option. This is copied from my company's FAN page.

Hmm... I get a 24% fan discount, but I haven't looked to see if it works on the iPad. I wonder if I can look online to see if it applys to my iPad.

Nice, 24% off of 50.00 is 38.00 for 5GB, or 30 for 3GB. 8.00 for 2 more GB I guess isn't bad.

Yea. It's a shame the FAN discounts changed when the new data plans rolled out. 🙁 If you still have the 2GB plan your FAN will continue to come off of that though.

Going into a corporate store is one sure way. But I'm guessing with the 24% you have a medical/healthcare discount, so if you have a work email they can validate that through customer care online or over the phone. You'll receive an email to your work email address and clicking the link will activate it.
 
I only get 15%, but I still have the old 4GB plan for $45. I'm tempted to get the 5GB for $5 more but I really only use less than 3, sooooooo.... maybe not.

EDIT: Duh, that's on my iPhone...

Doesn't this only apply if your iPad prepaid account is added to your already established account? Basically, another line? I have a hotspot (non-iPad) added to my account with a 5GB limit and with my discount it's only $40. However, I'm reading this question as applying the discount on the iPad account that isn't attached to your account. I'm assuming it's not possible since it's a separate, prepaid account.

As long as you're being billed monthly on a postpaid account it shouldn't make a difference. I know accounts where iPads were added on a completely individual and separate account and they still got the discount. Hope I understood that correctly.
 
I found out that yes you can get the discount. But you have to get the 5gb $50 plan. Bad news your locked into a 2 year contract, good news the personal hot spot will be enabled.

I'm taking my iPad back and getting a verizon model on pre-paid.

Someone gave you the wrong information. You are only in a contract when you get a device for subsidized pricing. iPad isn't offered on a contract.

I called three different times. They all said I would be locked in a 2 year contract and would have to pay termination fee if I wanted to stop it.
 
At&t fan

I have 23% service discount but only applies to 5Gb data. I wish they'd offer discount for 3Gb data in the future.

My company also have 23% discount on Verizon but unfortunately IPad data plans are not discounted at all🙁
