It's only mediocre if it reduces the quality of the experience. Know how I found out about the pixel? I used solid colored backgrounds. I did this yesterday and I bought my iPad on day one. I never noticed it in normal use, so why should I return it?
Mine has three. One that shows up in bright areas, and the other two show up in darker areas. Unfortunately one is a green dead pixel and it's really obvious when you're watching movies or reading in the dark.
However, I shall wait to return. I had nothing but bad iPads for returns.
i think dead pixels are a more valid reason to return as opposed to something like "yellow screen" where it is entirely subjective.
If a yellow screen is subjective then so is the validity of returning one with a yellow screen.
damm ! i want an ipad 3 but all i hear is complains about it![]()
Sorry but what's the point of this thread? Is it to convince people that a dead pixel is OK?
It's not to me, and it just pains me to know that there are still people willing to live with them. Yes, I know you are after overall enjoyment OP, but man, the screen is the one thing you're looking at 98% of the time.
Oh well, to each his own I guess.
Would you buy a brand new car with a small spider crack in the windshield and just "live with it"?
