My 12in MacBook may be on its last leg. Got the blinky folder tonight, and when I get into disk recovery, it doesn’t see my drive. Looking to go to a 13in Pro. Should I look at the new 2019 models, or last year’s 2018 model? Thoughts?

I have a 2018 model and it is very fast. My keyboard did experience sticky keys though and I now have the 2019 keyboard on my machine. The good thing about the keyboard messing up was I got a brand new battery also since it was connected to the keyboard. Now I am typing this on a 2018 with only four cycles! If you can get a 2018 for a lot cheaper I recommend it. If any of the keys give you trouble you will definitely get the 2019 keyboard.

I'd always go for the most recent machine you can afford - new or refurbished from Apple.

Definitely leaning towards the 2019 model. Just wanted to find out if there were benefits of going with the 2018 non-Touch Bar model. Wanted to get thoughts on Touch Bar vs non-Touch Bar.

One thing I do value about the TouchBar models is the four ports - allowing you to charge from either side of the laptop.

Have you tried the TouchBar, you might just not like it?

Other than that, spec and price I guess would be the main things to consider, depending if you need the performance of the TouchBar model?
