I have to agree with a few others, when I used the Air I too felt the screen seemed washed out, maybe they had a bunch of flawed units out as some say they see no difference? Or maybe some are more sensitive to details, as I have 20/15 visions so maybe it seemed more noticeable to me? Took it back and got a 13" Pro, plus in actual use the Pro last longer especially watching movies on a trip. But also I can multitask pretty heavily and run Win 7 at the same time in a VS and the MPA is not a fan of that at all, noticeable slow down and heats up like crazy, MBP handles it way better.

One thing I did like is the MPA screen is much less reflective then the 13" Pro as it doesn't have that extra layer of glass. Not as good as the high-res antiglare option but still better then the 13" Pro, reflections drive me bonkers on it.
