I see the model I ordered (256 GB Graphite Pro Max) has already slipped into October for shipping but store pickup is still good for the 24th in my area.

It looks like graphite is slipping first for T-Mobile. All sizes of graphite pro max are now shipping in October, but most of the other colors, including blue are still available for Friday delivery.

Interesting. 512 & 1TB Sierra Blue Pro Max already slipped to October in my area with no pick up option. But 256gb is still available for pick up on 9/24…

1TB must have lower stock to begin with, I thought the 256GB would be the most popular size.

I see my model is slipping as well is 512 graphite Pro Max but Local area pick up is still available all over the Boston area

picked gold because i knew it wasn’t going to be popular, plus it goes in a case anyways.. that’s a win in my book
I love love love gold. I’ve been carrying it for just a little short of a year though, so I thought I’d try the light blue this time. But gold is a color that showed beautifully through my clear case in a way darker colors don’t. And it looked great with so many color cases. I’m going to miss it.

Some configurations started out with an October shipping date. Retail stores seem to have better availability than online this year.
I'm sure they are getting the same amount as always, but there's less desire for an in-store pickup this year. IMHO, going to the apple store was never super-fun for me, but the idea of having to wait in an hour-long line possibly being forced to wear a mask ... yeah, no thanks ... i'll wait for fedex at home.

You setup a pickup time in a 15 minute window. No waiting for an hour. Also no waiting for the FedEx man all day.

Those hours long waits are a thing of the past. I picked up the last two iPhones on launch day in store, and it was in and out in 5 minutes.

Doesn't look like a lot of demand (or there's a lot of supply) here in Manhattan. All of stores in NYC have the 13 Pros - 128GB (regular and max) still in stock with the exception of Sierra Blue in the Max size. Typically a lot of variants would be out by now for local pickup.

This year supply is normal and demand is very low. The iPhone 12 was a super cycle with the all new designs, and the 13 is perhaps the most iterative update in the history of iPhone. Taking over the honor from the XS.

So yeah I expect tons of supply all season, for everything except the most popular models.

Same, My current 12 Pro Max is the Gold, I typically am not a fan of gold but when they showed this during the Keynote last year, I was SOLD!! LOL. This time, same I went with the Sierra Blue Max.
