For people who have the 14 Pro already - (My 14 PM is currently on order) Does AOD actually show notifications/ missed calls, text notification, etc. Or is it essentially just a darker version of the iOS 16 Lock Screen?

It shows notifications. I just got a notification from the Health app. In my case, it waits for me to unlock with FaceID before it shows the details.

Also shows the next action/turn for maps, just doesn’t show the live animation.

Shows notifications in full color as though you tapped your phone screen, just on a darker background, and slightly dimmed

As of iOS 16.0.1

Has anyone noticed any strain on battery life with AOD enabled?
Think it’s probably a bit too early to really judge that but I will say I’m honestly really impressed with the 14 Pro Max battery life. Received at 78%, set up as new, downloaded all apps (81), opened all of them and set up, set up 2 Apple Watches and downloaded 9.0 on one of them and also updated to 16.0.1all without charging and I’m still at 34% battery. My 13 Pro Max has 99% battery health so it’s not like its battery was terrible but 14 Pro Max feels better. I left AOD on since I set up around 3PM.

I thought AOD would be pointless. But I do quite like it. Being able to put my next calendar appointment is great. I can see why people want more widget space - a large area with reminders would be perfect.
