Almost android like in how unpolished it looks. The island cutting in, the round corners also slightly cutting in.

But TBF, my android looks better than that.
 
It does this via the YouTube app, it needs an update to correct it as it’s also cut off the 4 outer corners, try it via Safari, works nicer.

Yup. Its 100% the app. This always happens when apple changes the screen (ie how some apps ran in a mini window when using an ipad because the devs didnt update the app for it to scale properly

It’s not the app, the 13 Pro’s notch cuts in ever so slightly with 18:9 YouTube videos with the same 4 outer corners being curved in. You can zoom out to fix it initially but it doesn’t stay there.

Mine (via safari) stays like my screenshot above when watching, in the YouTube app however it’s cut off like your pic.

I just watch this 18:9 video with youtube app, notch does not cover any video in iphone 11 lol xd
 
Use effective area to exchange for island effect, such a bad deal especially you pay so much for 14 pro series
