Anyone feeling a lot of heat from the back and sides? Just pulling it out and using it for one min with texting and browsing, the phone gets very warm. Even coming from the screen.

YES!

Even doing something minimal I’m getting a lot of heat…

Been thinking something may be wrong with it, compared to my 13 PM which was ice cool, this is concerningly different.

Not noticed this on my 14 Pro, maybe it’s because of the Pro Max’s bigger battery therefore more heat dissipation?

Yes, the sides feel hot and drives me nuts. I will return it and buy another after a day or so.

Very, very much so. 14 Pro. Hot enough, frequently, that it's uncomfortable to hold. And it is not downloading stuff from iCloud -- I transferred everything (last night) phone-to-phone.

Naked or with a case? I haven’t noticed anything with my Pro albeit it’s in an Apple silicone case.

It’s driving me nuts as well. Been contemplating doing a wipe and starting from scratch to see if it helps…but don’t really wanna set everything up again so soon. Contemplating returning and going back to my 13 PM, battery life felt way better on that as well

I’m glad I’m finally seeing others with this issue. It’s been driving me nuts since I got the phone yesterday and everyone keeps saying it’s the first few days so that’s normal, but I know this isn’t normal. It’s getting warm after sending a text, web browsing for a min, etc. Never experienced this with other iPhones in the past.

Naked as I don't have a case for it yet. I also will be swapping it for another unit on Monday as this one has a terrible yellow tint to the screen. (I posted about it in the yellow-screen thread.)

I have noticed this on the standard pro. On the train earlier listening to some music and just general use, browsing, some socials etc and the phone was very warm. Seems to be in a specific spot just below center but I have not seen this on an iPhone before.

Mine is above the apple. Sides too

This is likely the byproduct of the new device thermals. There is a graphite pad over the SoC and a large piece of graphite film on the backside of the display that help to wick away heat to help the processor sustain performance for longer periods. The heat is no doubt being transferred out to the frame.

Edit: for context, from 0:45 to about 1:15, you can see where the graphite thermal film and pads are. The A16 processor is on the left of the phone when looking at the screen (the side with the volume buttons). The thermal transfer is definitely going to be most pronounced on that side.

YES. It just started running super hot while. Charging and now using. It’s naked. No case. I started and shut it down twice, now it’s not hot.

I have a scrolling issue. I can’t scroll within a folder to apps on next page. I’ve wiped and started as new and still can’t.
