Well the much "rumored" announcement date is next week. With that said I'm betting the invites go out Tuesday. That's about 8 days before the supposed announcement and if I recall the same time frame last year.

What do you all think?

If invites go out on a Tuesday, the event will be on Tuesday, September 11. Not the best timing, is it?

Invites always go out exactly one week ahead of the event.

Yeah i think it will be Wednesday. Hopefully they put some kind of iPhone image on the invites to all-but-confirm the new iPhone (as if we need anymore confirmation!).

What is the point of this thread... Pure speculation of a pointless subject

I guess people with birthdays on Sept 11 feel pretty bad huh?

May be we should all learn to not overblow everything. Not discounting the horrible event, just stating our general tendency.

I am sure we can find every day of the calendar associated with some bad event happening in the past, that would make things quite hard.

I couldn't care less if it was on September 11, but Apple is an American company and I don't think most people in the US will see September 11 as any other normal day for the coming years.

So yeah, I agree with you but I was trying to think from an American perspective (I'm not an American). ;)

If you look at this section of the forum, you'll notice that a majority of these threads are about rumors/speculation. It's simply what happens when a new iPhone is about to be released. If you don't like the thread, simply leave and be on your merry way.

F that, you're on a site called MacRUMORS.

That too, lol.

Anyways, the invites are more than likely going out on Wednesday, the 5th. That'd be a week till the keynote, which is when they usually send out invites, but it could also be sent out on Tuesday, as thats 8 days before the keynote, just like the invitation for the iPad 3 keynote was. Invitations went out on Feb 28th, the keynote was on March 7th.

Wednesday Sept 5.

The invites for this years iPad event were sent out on a Tuesday, yet the event was held the following Wednesday. So don't rule out Tuesday yet.

However, I think they will be sent out on Wednesday, to try and steal some thunder from Motorola's event.

I was just voicing my own opinion... I apologise if i upset you.

Didn't upset me, it's just how I see it. It happens every year when a new iDevice is about to be released. "Will the next iPad have this?", "Will the next iPhone do that?". No offense was meant to you, I was just calling it how I see it lol.

Anyone know what time of day most of Apple's events begin at? I'm trying to figure out if I'll be in class or not.

What trite saying will be on the invites this year, so people can dissect them to see what the hidden meaning is?

"There is something BIG coming"
"We've come a LONG way"
"iPhone stands TALL"

Or maybe, if they want to be honest
"You've already seen the new iPhone- it's on sale now. No event needed. So much for doubling down on security"
