Just to let everyone know the image was confirmed fake by the website. They posted this: UPDATE: We have now been told by the reader and a large number of people that this image is indeed fake. We’ll just have to wait to find out the real specifications of the 2012 iMac. Our readers obviously enjoy some part time photoshopping!

That would be a plausible, but disappointing, low-end 27".

It's been shown that these labels are easy to fake, so don't take it as gospel yet.

I don't believe anything anymore.

But this looks like what the low end 27" would look like...

Guess that means, if it is following the scheme of the 2011 models, that the high end 21.5" will have the GT 650M?

I shall, none the less, take advantage of this highly dubious information to say, "YES! NO ODD!" :D

Pretty disappointed at the 1TB. I was hoping for standard SSDs.

A part of me wants to say that this label isn't real. But who knows?

Wait. Doesn't the 27" have two thunderbolt ports? This label lists one.

Following pattern, yes, that would put the 650M in the top 21" and probably a 640M in the low 21".

Top 27" remains a question. I'm rulling out the Fermi rebadges simply because Apple ruled them out last year. That leaves the 660M and the 680M. 660M stock and 680M BTO would be plausible, but that would mean that the stock top 2012 27" would underperform the stock 2011 27". I can't see Apple letting that happen.

"27 inch (viewable) 16:9 widescreen LED backlit display: 2560 by 1440"

I think there is the word "pixels" missing or not?

Wait. Doesn't the 27" have two thunderbolt ports? This label lists one.

Also no ethernet... hints at a slimmer design? The rMBP also needs a thunderbolt-to-ethernet adapter.....
But because there is only one thunderbolt port it makes no sense xD

So the biggest change would be the processor? That isn't enough of an improvement from the 2011 specs. Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge is kinda negligible for such a long wait, and doesn't justify the price either. It would have been better to not have waited considering the time tradeoff.

Considering this is would be the low end, AMD 6770m to Nvidia 650M is still a nice jump. And then there's whatever they did to the display, and USB 3.

Yeah, this doesnt make much sense as a single-GPU release. Last (current) model's 6790M mops the floor with the 650M in every benchmark. There isnt even a claimed boost by the 650M supporting a higher level of DirectX or anything like that (both do DX11, SM 5.0)

If it is real, then there will undoubtedly be an option for a 680M. (even the 670M can't beat the 6970M). Have to say, AMD/ATI really nailed it with the 6970M and only the 680M (not even 670M) can top it, despite being another cycle advanced.

ODD is dead. Get a $13 usb dvd drive for your legacy stuff. You don't see me getting in a huff that I can't run my old IOMEGA tape drives on built-in kit.

Guys don't go crazy over this because this is a confirm fake look at the bluetooth and wiffi it says 801.11 the 2012 generations of MacBooks are 802.11 which what the new iMacs are going to have

probably fake yes. But rumors and mayhem is really ramping up, its obvious something is bound to happen soon. Usually when apple release a new products people will get always disappointed.....like is that it ??? Apple never seem to go all out on all cylinders, its a steady flow forward.

that link is dead all ready. Could mean it was real, or not :p

Agree.

Disagree. This argument makes no sense, because stores are still piled high with optical media for songs, videos, software, etc. They aren't selling tapes. ODD may be a dying technology, but I still think it will be a couple years before the majority of computer users don't need it.

Nice.. good eye. It's either a fake or an example of poor quality control in the label printing.. I can't confirm that there even is such a thing as 801.11.

its 2 inches thinner :)
It´s a good fake if it really is. I´m excited, wonder what the top model with BTO will be !!

It's written as "OSX" and not the correct "OS X" on the label. You'd think that if you would go through the trouble of all this, you'd get it right.

the current imac has 802.11 ....and Yeah, OSX is written OS X. Good cathes edry and 12dylan. So this is clearly faked, that´s too many mistakes all ready.

after checking the net, seems 801.11 is bogus, it doesnt even exists.

Apple quotes the following on the 2011 model:

Height: 20.4 inches (51.7 cm)
Width: 25.6 inches (65.0 cm)
Depth: 8.15 inches (20.7 cm)
Weight: 30.5 pounds (13.8 kg)3

The (possible) new label states:

20.4 x 25.6 x 6.3 and weighs 30.1 lbs.

The obvious 801.11 error and OSX spacing could indicate this is a "reject" label someone got their hands on. They seem like human typographical errors to me.

Those won't be the specs, all that wait for those would annoy a lot of people... Like me
