My RMBP will not save my wallpaper settings, every time I change it, then reboot the computer.. it reverts to my old wallpaper. Anyone else experiencing this/have a fix??

I had this problem until I decided to do a clean reinstall of Mountain Lion. Since then, I've had no issues at all with my background reverting to something else.

Open Terminal:
Type the following, hit enter after each line:

cd ~/Library/Preferences/
rm com.apple.desktop.plist
killall Dock

You're welcome ;)

I had this issue before and I just replaced both com.apple.desktop.plist and com.apple.desktop.plist.lockfile with previous files I saved on my Time Capsule data or you can use an external hard drive with the files. It can be found at User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist.
