Speaking on behalf of my Apple certified lightning cord..

I accidentally left my cord in my pocket when I was going to wash my clothes. After 3-5 minutes in the wash, I realized where my lightning cord was. I fished out my sweat pants and retrieved my cord that had been immersed. Wiped it off, blew off all of the water, works fine just like it used to!

To everyone out there, I hope this does not happen to you and if you buy 3rd party accessories like this, hopefully the same thing would happen!

The amazon link on the $9 Cable says cable/charger combo. Why pay $10 more with second link?

They probably got the title wrong, because in the details only the 2nd link mentions the car adapter.

What did you expect? I doubt a little bit of water would harm a little plastic/metal cable. I'm confident I could dunk a cable in water for a few minutes and still have it work.

I have had a usb memory stick and two mobile phones to through full wash cycles and still work after drying out properly.

I honestly was not expecting it to work. I guess nothing like that has ever happened to me. Do you think these cords would survive this same incident? Just wondering

Very interested in hearing how long these cables are. The description doesn't list it and I'm really hoping for a 6' length.

i was just about to click buy, when i looked at the tip of the connector. i cant help but notice how cheaply made and different it looks when compared to the legit apple one. ill hold off on this now, pending reviews. for the extra $10, i think i may rather just get an apple one.

I just got an email saying mine shipped so it'll probably go out tomorrow and be here soon.

I noticed that too and decided not to try. I have already bought another Apple USB to lighting and one of the 30 pin to lighting 0.2m cables, but I think I could use one of the all in one 30 pin to lighting connectors for my clock radio.

Has anyone received theirs yet? I received mine a couple days ago but haven't tried to charge or sync it yet. I did plug it into the lightning port to see how it fit and it ended up being a bit rough/tight. I'm going to wait until some reviews start popping up.

After I did some research, I decided to get my second lightning cable from Apple store. The main reason is authenticated chip in lightning cable. Most of Lightning Cables on Amazon are kind of knock-off cable and over price for authentic one.

I bought this at Walmart for $7. Found it up front on the battery display. I just tote my Apple cable from house to the car if I somehow forgot to charge it overnight. It works like a charm!

EDIT: I'm not sure why it uploaded sideways. Sorry.

Any car USB chargers will be fine, people are getting these instead of original Apple cables, that's where they are saving the most money.
