Has anyone received theirs yet? I received mine a couple days ago but haven't tried to charge or sync it yet. I did plug it into the lightning port to see how it fit and it ended up being a bit rough/tight. I'm going to wait until some reviews start popping up.

How long is the cable. The Boxwave website just says over 3 ft but nothing more. Is it the same length as the OEM Apple cable or longer? Thanks.

Any car USB chargers will be fine, people are getting these instead of original Apple cables, that's where they are saving the most money.

Actually, that's not true. The iPhone 5 requires a different charge. Basically requires more power. My previous car USB charger wouldn't do the trick and it worked just fine with my iPhone 4.

Any USB charger that has 2A output will do the job.

Something must be wrong with your car. The iPhone 5 and iPhone 4/4S have the same charging requirements at Input: 100-240V~ 0.15A (0.15A) 50-60Hz Output: 5V 1A

is this cable legit?

the last charger i ordered from boxwave almost broke my iphone 4s (every time you plugged in the charger it made the capacitive screen inoperative)

The cable is legit! I bought two and they work perfectly. The only thing I don't like is the lightning plug is a lot thicker than the OEM Apple plug.

Anyone have actual picture of the cable or maybe a video? Thinking of picking one up for the road. -- Also heard it's a bit snugged. What exactly does that mean? Difficult to take off the cable?

Just a bit confused :p

Just a tighter fit in the lightning port. A little more force to stick in and pull out.

Here's a set of pics. The Boxwave is on the left, OEM on the right.

Mine has worked just fine. Only been using it through my PC to sync/charge. Have not charged via any other methods. Hope this helps.

I bought this at Walmart for $7. Found it up front on the battery display. I just tote my Apple cable from house to the car if I somehow forgot to charge it overnight. It works like a charm!

EDIT: I'm not sure why it uploaded sideways. Sorry.

HOLY CRAP THAT THING IS MASSIVE! It looks like damn bullhorn haha

lol ok... i hate to know what you would call something that is actually bulky... this thing is very small. you can see my thumb in the pic... it flares out, but that doesn't matter... it's flush against the car so the round 'bullhorn' is all you see

I received mine this afternoon. I don't mind the size difference between the two products at all. It seem to work just fine, and i'm happy with the purchase so far.

Got mine in the mail today as well. Looks slightly bigger than my apple lightning cable with a quick glance but works as advertised.

i wonder how thick the lightning end is in comparison to the 30-pin to lightning 0.2m cable adapter, which is thicker than the stock lightning usb cable.

Not to blame this on these cables, but I recently ordered one and started using it on my iPad Mini. On the second day of using it, I plugged the iPad in to let it charge over night, then came home the next day to a completely, totally dead iPad Mini that refused to charge, sync, reset or restore, or even turn on for that matter. I ended up having to send it back to Apple for a replacement. They requested the cable I used to charge it in order to test, so they obviously felt it may have been relating to charging. The iPad had worked perfectly until this point, and literally worked fine the day before, so while I can't conclusively say it was the cable, thats basically the only odd out factor. Just a word of warning to everyone that also owns these non-OEM cables to be aware of the possibility that this may have been caused by a faulty cable and to practice vigilance on the matter.

Did you try a very long reset? Same thing happened to my wife's iP5 and I had to hold it down more than 30 secs at least and it finally powered back up.

I know you have no way of knowing my level of technical expertise, so to answer politely, yes, I did any and all troubleshooting procedures, then did them again when AppleCare asked me to. It wasn't simply off or frozen, the iPad was confirmed by Apple to need servicing, and as such, I was sent a new one.
