Available at Walmart and Amazon at this price. Picked one up from Wally today and trying to decide if I like it enough to keep it even at half the original asking price. I'm not exactly blown away, frankly.

I bought this at Walmart.com and it arrived today, but when I connect it to my iPad Pro 11” (1st gen) I get an “Accessory Not Supported” message. The box says it’s compatible with the 1st gen and I have an Apple Smart Folio Keyboard which uses the same 3 pin connector and works fine.

Is the Smart Keyboard just defective? If so can I get Apple to swap it out as Walmart wants me to mail it back to them with a 2 to 3 week turn around. I’d just return it and buy another, but it appears to be out of stock.

Defective. I am typing this on a gen 1 2018 11” Pro and it works completely. Is there a local Apple store you can take it to? Whether you bought it from the or Walmart the warranty still covers it completely. Also if Walmart is out of stock locally Best Buy and Target will price match in store or via chat. Purchase one through them and just return the defective one to Walmart.

Good call. Picked one up at Target which worked normally (plus 5% off for Red Card) and returned the defective one to Walmart.

Thanks to @mi7chy & @Johnny907 for the heads up! Got it priced matched at best buy and I’m loving it! Will say I knew it would be heavy based on reviews but wasn’t prepared for how it heavy it was 🏋️‍♂️ until I actually held it, tho I know the reasoning for it and it’s perfectly justified. Thanks again, you guys rock! 🤙
