Anyone else noticing that 14 Pro is losing multiple % battery on a device restart?
If I restart my iPhone 14 Pro Max, it loses 3-4% battery, on subsequent restart 1-2%.

I have never seen this behavior on a new device, only on devices with batteries a few years old.

Why are you randomly restarting the device? A full restart does eat up more battery and there’s some issues with iOS optimisation on the 14 Pro with all the new features anyway. It drains more battery compared to the 13 Pro series.

I just tested this on my 14 PM. First restart it went down 3% but only 1% on the next two restarts. That makes me think it’s just the calibration issue with the 3% and yes of course it’s going to use a bit of power restarting.

Who says I restart randomly, Normally once a week.

A full restart eats up more battery compared to what, just turning off the display, sure, but that's not the point?

I can, for example do multiple Geekbench runs or record multiple minutes on 4K which definitely draws more power then a restart, and drop less charge on battery according to the indicator.

This feels more like a either a software problem/ calibration, than more people would see the same behavior or a problem with the battery control circuit.

I’m just going to chalk it up to another iOS 16 bug. Before iOS 16 I probably restarted once every few months when I thought about it but I’ve been doing it about once a week figuring it might help.

I noticed last night that when I restarted, my battery dropped from 21% to 18% according to iOS, but when I connected to my computer and ran coconut battery, it was telling me the phone was still at 21%.
