15" base model, will it lag running a 4K @60Hertz?

I recently bought a mid 2014, 2.2Ghz base model that only comes with crystal well and intend to buy a 4K monitor. Will this machine be able to drive a 4K panel, in clamshell mode without any noticeable lags?

Does anyone own such a setup an can speak from experience please?
