I found an iMac G4 nearby being sold.

It's 15", 800MHz, superdrive, 756MB Ram, original box, keyboard, mouse, speakers, installation discs.

I'm not sure on the hard drive or OS it's running, I'm waiting on a response.

He's asking $450, but I feel like that's too high for 800mhz and less than a gig of ram. I'm not really sure though, I don't wanna spend more than $250-$300.

Am I being cheap? Is $450 a more accurate price? Should I offer him $300?

$450 is a little steep for a 15" 800Mhz G4 imac. I used to own the same exact machine, btw it should have a 60GB HD if it's stock. I sold mine for $900 but that was well over three years ago. Recently I have seen the same model imac go on ebay for as little as $300 or so but mind you that is not including shipping. Check ebay to get a good feel of the pricing. I would not spend more than $400 for that machine though. Try offering $300 and see if he bites. Though I think $350-$400 more or less reasonable. Remember the G4 imacs hold value well as they were very unique.
