Hey. I am about to replace my 13-inch MacBook Pro (Late-2015). I am wondering between the 15-inch 2016 and the 13-inch 2017 models.

The configurations I'm wondering between are:

15-inch 2016 - 16GB RAM, 256 SSD, Core i7 2.6GHz (Turbo Boost up to 3.5), Radeon Pro 450 with 2GB Memory.

13-inch 2017 - 8GB RAM, 512 SSD, Core i5 3.1GZh (Turbo Boost up to 3.5), Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650

I will use it primary for coding and graphic design and I want to use it for at least 3-4 years.

Which one would you go for? :)

Update: I've chosen the 15-inch 2017.

I had a 2016 nTB 13" that I sold a few months back for a 2016 15" Pro model and I haven't regretted it for a second. The extra SSD space on the 13" is nice but external storage can be acquired for cheap.

If getting external storage is not a problem, then the 15" is the best machine for your intended usage. Coding and graphics --> you won't regret getting the larger screen.

I am on the same road...

Finally tomorrow i am going to buy my first macbook pro and yet i can't decide what model?

My budget is max 2300€ and also i am planning in near future, to buy the LG 27 ud88 monitor.

My usage is for basic Photoshop design like "website banners , psd website pages converting to HTML5".

With multitasking simultaneously some chrome pages , Dreamweaver for html, css and javascript

and thats all..

Not gaming or 4k video editing. Also becomes my main machine and i am planning to using it a lot at home and rare out of my house ...

My options are :

Apple MacBook Pro "Core i5" 3.1 13" Touch/Mid-2017 2050€

Apple MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.6 15" Touch/Late 2016 2250€

I think the 2017 13' model can handle easily my needs and its also portable if needed .
But the older 2016 15' model with extra 200€ is much powerful (I think) but is necessary for my usage?

What is your opinion ?

I decided to get the 15" 2017.
If I have to choose between 13" 2017 and 15" 2016 - I'd get the 15".
