Sure, that is a valid choice for an individual, but it is not a good price comparison as it is not really available to large numbers of people. It's like complaining about the price of a new car because a used car is cheaper. Used is always cheaper than new.
It's not a fair analogy. Macbook Air 15 is going to be a downgrade from the 14" Pro. Cars are a different story.

The Air will be an Upgrade in the one feature which defines it, size. Being thinner and being lighter than a MBP. Whether or not that is important to you doesn’t change the fact that this feature is the reason for the Air‘s existence.

Regarding cars, new Corolla vs used Camry.

Again, MBP will have still the better screen, speakers, price... Most importantly, it has fans! Have you played a game or rendered a 3d model on Air? It throttles after 5 minutes of gameplay. The whole "I love fan- less laptops" is overblown as MBPs are just as quiet as Airs.

These were my 1st and 2nd Cars, actually. Used Camry, obviously. Different class and feel, and the 2-3 year difference in age is nothing for a Toyota.

I think it should start at $1399 for the 512gb/16RAM model. Otherwise it will be a flop in this economy.

Funnily enough these were my 1st and 2nd Cars. Used Camry, obviously. Different class and feel, and the 2-3 year difference in age is nothing for Toyotas.

Why aren't you buying a MBP? By the time they include your wishlist items, it would be a 14" MBP. It seems to be what you want. No need to force the Air to be a MBP.

Not everyone is playing games and rendering 3D models on a daily basis to need that performance and may be happier for the thinner, lighter and absolutely quiet Air.

Yes I have and thats why I bought a Pro; however, lots of people don't do those things. For many people, the lightest weight MacBook with a large screen is more important.

That's an unrealistic price considering the 13" is 1599 for that configuration.

Because they might launch the air in two weeks. It only makes sense to wait and see what they came up with.

They'll probably mark the prices down, considering the decline in sales. I speculate the 13" MPA will go back to its original $999 price. And the 265/8 configuration should have been ditched 5 years ago.
