hi

it really depends on personal preferences. 15 inches fit for me because when i travel it still fits on the economy desk of the plane compared to 17 inches. some people like the 17 inches as they enjoy to working with larger scale. but mobility wise they suffer a little. my 15 inch i wish it was lighter as when i travel hate carrying it for too long.

Why would someone choose a 15 incher over a 17 inch pro? Would it be for a smaller laptop, how much smaller is it? Or is it the new LED displays, what makes them so great? And, lastly, will they be implemented on the new 17 inchers soon?

Any other advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks everyone for the patience! I'm a new Mac user, as many people are these days. Switching sides is pretty exciting...It just comes with loooooots of questions.

Thank you and take care!

The 17" has an expresscard slot and the 15" has an SD card slot. The expresscard is definitely more useful but not if you don't need one and it's now on its way out with the introduction of Thunderbolt.

The screen on the 17" is much, much nicer than the 15"

josh, go for the 15" for design with hi ress if u can.

I would recomment to get a LED or LCD for your main work desktop. 24" is more than fine, if you get another 3rd party charger. thats the best combo :D

Tbh, the 17" MBP isn't that much bigger than the 15"; at least in relative terms it's not anywhere near as big a size difference as there is between the 13" and 15".

I just bought the 17" top spec after much indecision as to whether or not to pick that or the 15". For me, ultimately I wanted the screen real estate without having to use an external display. As far as I can tell, the spec difference between the top end 15 and 17 is non-existent. Ended up paying £3200 or so and the 15" would have been a shade cheaper just because of the lesser screen.
