I was fully prepared to warn you away from a Craigslist scam.

What SMC / EFI bug? Never heard about getting store credit for that.

That's from your gross, so it's not really $498. You would be lucky if it's half of that.

Nope. Read this: https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/member-benefits/extended-warranty.html and click "See Extended Product Warranty Terms & Conditions for full details"

    Exclusions and Limitations
Insurance under this Policy does not apply to Covered Purchases that:
    ...
Are used, rebuilt, refurbished or remanufactured.

And if you're going to include tax write offs, you should include sales tax as well :)

Some states don't have salestax ;) wow, thank you for the exclusion info... good catch! When I asked Discover over the phone they said it would be covered. Good to know that I'll need to purchase applecare, but I think anyone with an education discount can purchase it for you for $200 (normally $300).

Not sure what you mean, I'm in the 28% bracket...

The one where fps drops when gaming, I returned it one or two days prior to them releasing a fix so I raised holy hell since I had to get a new one + load it with all my stuff again.
