Hey guys...first post on macrumors and I have a serious problem. As I type this post up, I can only see about 2/3 of my screen. The bottom 1/3 of the screen is just not working. Below are three pictures showing how and where the screen doesn't work. Please help me figure out what the exact problem is so that maybe I can fix it myself. Don't have apple care so all repairs are out of pocket (would rather fix myself than pay double or triple the amount to have apple do it).

Here is some info about the laptop:

MacBookPro3,1
MBP31.0070.B07
SMC Version: 1.16f11

Let me know if you guys need any other info.
Thanks in advance.

Definitely looks like it could possibly be related to the invidia 8600 defects, for which Apple has just extended the warranty to 3 years. Go the Apple Store and let them take a look.

Hey man any chance you have any links to the extended warranty info? Want to take a look at it before I make a trip down to the apple store (like to be knowledgeable about stuff I'm talking about).
