Hi all,

I don’t really have much need for a MagSafe charger , but thought it might be an interesting option in my car with wireless CarPlay. AliExpress has them for ~$15 so I figured what the heck, I’ll give it a shot. The bottom line is that 75% of the time it doesn’t charge. The animation shows up on the screen, and the lightning bolt on the battery shows that it’s charging, but nothing happens.

Is it a thing with all MagSafe chargers that some of them don’t work or just the Chinese copies? I googled it and apparently there are some websites saying that authentic MagSafe chargers aren’t working on some iPhones but that there is no solution?

Thoughts?

If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. Never bought from there as it appears their quality is cheap.

I got one along with an Apple leather case "all fake" the Magsafe is fine but the leather case start to peel already

Do they accept returns?

They do but it’s not quite as easy a process as with Amazon.....I’ve had a lot of luck with a lot of things I’ve bought on AliExpress. Often the products are indistinguishable from what we see here in America for far more money. The challenge is you never really know until you get it so I rarely, if ever, buy anything for any significant amount of money.

Don’t buy anything from Ali express. Ever. Chinese crap!
You can find a lot of stuff cheaper over there, you just need to look and be careful what to buy or what to not buy.
There are a lot of amazon products that are also sold on aliexpress but for a lot cheaper.

I bet you have bought plenty of things on amazon that is getting dropped shipped from china...
Ali Express is factory direct from China website. A lot of the items don’t have to uphold to a standard that Amazon products or any products for that matter have to uphold to. Their can be 3 versions of one thing and Ali Express has the cheapest most knock offy versions available on the totem pole. Just look up videos of Chinese super stores that sell stuff in their mainland. Amazon is not the same. Sorry. Don’t buy crap off Ali Express OP

That is not really true. I have ordered bulk from AliExpress and sent into amazon fulfilled so amazon handles the shipments and customer service. A lot of companies on amazon do this believe or not and its very simple to do. Just because it says Amazon fulfilled doesn't mean it isn't coming from another company(china/aliexpress) that is having amazon Handle that side of things and will show up fulfilled by Amazon...

At least on Amazon if it’s not as described or knock off crap, it’s beyond easy to return. Good luck returning anything on Aliexpress in a timely fashion.

Yes that's the biggest issue with AliExpress. Ive had decent luck with them for the most part.

Baffles me you’d spend $700+ on a phone to cheap out on a charger, why?
