Get mine tomorrow...will check it out but unless it's just a complete distraction, I don't plan on returning it for this reason. I guess I'm not as sensitive to these gradations...or I have some really good screens on my computers. I haven't had these issues and I've had 3 (soon to be 4) MacBook/MacBook Pros since 2004.

I have had my 15" MBP w/TB for a few weeks now and the bottom of my screen started to look shadowy. I just noticed it yesterday, in a brightly lit room. It is only truly visible on a white background, such a page document etc... I have taken a pic of it 50% not to big a deal yet my OCD is telling me it is. Again, its at the bottom of the screen.

Don't really see anything wrong with the LCD in that photo... looks quite uniform to me, actually.

like I said its more of an OCD issue, not a big deal. it does look pretty good otherwise. it just looks like smudges in those areas, but only see on a white background or page. it's like three or four spotlights shining upwards.

Your LCD is in very good shape to me - the lighting is even all over and there are no traces of any pink/blue hues.

Enjoy it and try not to fret so much!

Yeah you'll probably get one that's worse

If you wanna roll the dice I'd buy another and keep the superior one

I definitely see the spotlighting on the bottom. Very strange!

Like others said...it's a lottery. Hard part is just settling :/

I think the best strategy is to return the faulty unit to an Apple Store and then open the new machine with a Genius to inspect for faults. I have done this with other Macs without any issues at all.

This only works if it's not a BTO or they have one in stock

I am not going to roll the dice. The last one had a bad trackpad. Just need to look at the middle of the screen haha no really the spotlighting isn't really worth rolling the dice.

The top has pink tint compared to the bottom.

That's great, BUT is your screen a uniform colour temp all over or do you have green/pink or Blue/yellow shifts across it?

Nope not what I can see or read with my prob. I have a little pink in the upper left corner but when I read there it's not to much pink so my guess is that it's the anti-glare filter that making it look pink in some angels.
If I watch right at it it's not pink but if I watch it a little from the side its pink.

Is anyone noticing a slight variation in screen tint on their 2016 15" MBPs?

I am noticing a slightly bluer white on the left quarter and right third of the screen. It appears to go from a bluer white to a warmer white peaking just left of center (where there are hints of yellow) then back to a cooler white. It does appear less pronounced at differing viewing angles, but the left quarter is definitely the coolest section of my screen, and second from left quarter the warmest.

It's something I could live with, but now I've noticed it it's bothering me. For example, if you go to Google News homepage full screen, the images and the first few words of the headline appear to have a bluer background, with a much warmer white section in the second quarter of the screen. Reading text full screen takes me through 3 different white points.

Maybe I'm overly sensitive to it, I returned a previous generation pro because the screen uniformity was really bad. This is nowhere near as extreme but definitely noticeable to me and I'm thinking I'll return this one or at least review Apple Store floor models for screen uniformity. Curious if anyone is seeing anything similar? I tried taking a photo but it didn't really convey the white point differences I'm seeing in person. Thanks all.

For what it's worth, screen manufacturer is 610, model is A030 with a manufacture date code of D21FB300.

how do you find the manufacturer?
