15" MBP + 23" ACD ...Powering On

I've just finally picked up a 23" Apple Cinema Display from my local Apple retail store. I know that pressing the ACD's power button, it'll wake the MBP from sleep. Since most of the time my MBP will be plugged to the ACD, I was wondering if there's anyway to power on the MBP without flipping the screen open?

no, with the power off, the notebook ignores all input other than the power button.

This works on my MacBook, quickly close the lid when you power on your MBP its display will not turn on.
