15" Mid-2010 Kernel Panics-HELP!

Since last fall, my MBP 15" (Mid-2010) has frequent kernel panics/crashes. I've run all the diagnostics, reset SMC, etc., but am still having the same issue. Below is a recent crash report. Any advice would be appreciated!

The graphics processor (GPU) is prone to failure on these models, and that's what's happening to yours. Apple had an extended repair program for some time, but that has ended.

What is the cost to replace through Apple?

hundreds of dollars. I don't know the exact amount. Maybe 300 to 500

I've got the same year mbp and the gpu is panicking a lot.

A depot repair is a flat rate of $310 in the US.

Apple won't contemplate repair or replacement. They say they have no parts as it is a vintage model. What worked for me was installing the original OS that shipped with the MBP - 10.6 Snow Leopard. Working fine now. So is it a hardware or software fault, or a combination of the two?

That is not true its a capacitor which is failing.
Fix is easy, please check this threat and be happy with your machine for a lot more years to come.

Just check the other threat I posted earlier. It is a failing capacitor which you can, if you are handy enough, replace by yourself. This fix is less than 10$ and will resolve your trouble once and for all.
