I emailed the undergrad engineering office and they said this:

"We try to make all our programs compatible to the Mac machines, but you may have some connection difficulties. These connection difficulties can be worked through with help from our Information and Technology staff if you come across any.

So my plan is to run the base 2010 15" model with bootcamp. Would this eliminate any "connection difficulties"?
