For four days now I've been having problems with my iPhone 15 Pro Max ringing, then before I can answer, the incoming call either is cut off or goes to answer phone. This happens for all callers. Initially everything pointed to this being a problem with the mobile company, but then I decided to put in my Spanish SIM (my European-spec handset has one physical SIM slot) and I found that calls to that number had the same problem.

I've tried every suggestion that's been made by AI helpers. I then realised that I had updated to iOS 26.2.1 around the time this started, so I'm wondering if it's a hardware problem or to do with iOS or hardware. Has anyone else had such an issue, and was there a solution? Thanks in advance for any responses.

I finally solved the problem by resetting network settings. I had held off from doing this as there was a warning that it would remove all of the 150+ passwords to wifi networks I use on my travels, but I now understand these should repopulate from my iCloud account.
