I can’t imagine using a screen protector without black borders. They are infinitely better.
Just wondering, why are ones with black borders better? Genuinely curious because I have not used a black-bordered screen protector until now (ESR Armorite) and noticed it every so slightly covers part of the screen, making the bezel look slightly thicker than if I had used a screen protector without a black border. It doesn't bother me too much but knowing that I feel like I'm not getting the most bang for my buck screen-wise.

I’ve had issues with taps not registering when typing and entering Lock Screen code. Sounds like o/s issue.

If it’s designed correctly, it fits exactly within the bezel. With the black borders it makes it much more difficult to tell where the screen protector starts and ends. There’s no refraction of light within the edge so it pretty much disappears and doesn’t have the rainbow look on the edge. Much better.

The lock screen code is where this issue is the most prominent for me as well. But I have it everywhere else as well. Backspace, l,m,n and in general keys on the edge. Even the camera shutter needs to be touched multiple times most of the time. And I am not even using a screen protector.
This is my second iPhone 15 Pro Max. I have returned the first one because of this issue. My second one has the same exact problem. This is so incredible annoying and there is no solution in sight. 2 months and this problem is not even acknowledged by Apple.

My current theory is, that this is somehow related to devices sold outside of the US like those with physical sim tray. I asked around in the reddit thread where people got their devices from, and so far nobody from the US reported this problem. Just people from Europe and Canada so far. (I have only 7 data points)

Launch day 15 Pro and no issues at all with the Belkin protector Apple installed, the Torro one or the ESR Amorite protector.

I am no longer getting this issue. I had the belkin protector initially. I now have the torras one.

Although it may not be the swap of protector. I also thought it may have been a software update. Whatever the case I no longer experience the issue at all - previously it was all the time on the lock screen.
