If you want even a hint of seriousness in your shooting, stick with the Pro models --- even if you never touch RAW. The 1/1.28-inch main sensor on the Pros, while stuck at the same size for years instead of moving up to 1/1.13 or larger, still outperforms the 1/1.56-inch IMX704/804/904. Their processing pipelines are worlds apart: the “casual” cams force shorter exposures, and the results show it.

Weird, fair enough, reading back that sounded more snarky than I meant for it too, sorry
Not at all. I think I was in the middle of replying to you and then replied to someone else and when trying to clean up the dual quotes I inadvertently left your name in.

Well I decided on getting the base 17 after going back and forth on the Air. I never used any of the "Pro" features of my 15 Pro anyway.

does anyone know if the speakers are as good as on the 15pro? my most favorite feature of the 15pro - speaker quality is insane

So Xfinity is basically offering up to $1,100 over 2 years on a new Iphone- with the trade-in of my 15 Pro. I went to the Apple Store today and spent some time with all the phones. On paper, the money would get me a 17 Pro, but honestly I’m not crazy about it. The aluminum feels like a downgrade from my titanium - and yes, I noticed the scratches like everyone else has been pointing out. I'm also not a fan of the camera hump at and it's heavier than my 15 Pro.

The regular 17 is nice, but it doesn’t feel like a good deal since it’s less than the $1,100 credit (unless I go with the 512 GB). That leaves the Air. I did like that one a lot, but I think next year’s version will be the real one to get - probably with a second camera.

So I guess I’ve decided to just stick with my 15 Pro until next year and see what offers are out there then. Maybe I’ll lose a couple hundred on trade-in, not sure, but I don’t feel like upgrading now is worth it.
