How much better, if at all, are the speakers on the 17 inch MBP compared to the 15 inch?

They're supposedly better, but I haven't heard them side by side to really compare, but I can say that both the 17" and 15" sound much better than they used to (IMO).

The unibody generation is worse than the original aluminum PB and MBP

But the headphone audio output of the 17 inches is better than 15 inches. Analogue wise.

I'd say the speakers on the 17 are noticeably better than those on the 15. The bass seems to go lower, and they play a bit louder.

The 17" has 5 speakers, whereas the 15" has 3.

Hard to tell on the 15", but there is 2 speakers and a sub.

17" has 4 and 1, respectively.

No clue on the quality of the speakers, but the 15" speakers are the best I've had on a notebook.
