I went ahead in Apple's online store and went through the process of buying a 3GS just to see what it will be like when I order my iPhone 4 next week. Keep in mind I am eligible for an upgrade.

I chose all the right options and entered the information to check eligibility. It came up saying that I'm eligible for the 3GS at $149.99

What's that all about!? I'm eligible! I understand that there is an $18 upgrade fee, but where are they getting the rest of the money from? I also don't think that the $18 upgrade fee is included in that $150 number.

So, whats this all about?

They changed mines, but the $99 was for the 8GB, which wasn't listed anymore and the store told me they had none in stock and the price just dropped $50 for the 16GB 3GS.

The upgrade fee is included in your next bill prior to purchasing the phone.

The 16gb is $150, and the 32gb is $200. The 8gb (which you're probably thinking about) comes out later for $100. The 8gb isn't on the At&t site yet.

The $99 3GS is 8GB, and will be available on the 24th alongside the iPhone 4.
They dropped the 16/32GB to $149/199 to get rid of stock before then.
