Looking through Apple's site, I stumbled upon this http://www.apple.com/powerbook/wireless.html picture at the top of the page. Is it just me, or does that PowerBook look black?!

Judging from the rest of the picture, I'm guessing it's just a shadow, but it still seems really misleading for new users.

Yeah, interesting. But you can still tell its silver under the light from the display.

Yeah, look at the iBook page. They both have 1024x768 resolutions, but the iBook 14" dock is smaller than the 12". Misleading the users that you are getting more screen real estate on the 14" than the 12"...

Apple's lighting effect sucks in that picture. Definitely an alubook, though.

Yep, I was all set to buy my 14" widescreen iBook when they got updated and then I realized it was some of Apples photoshop (or maybe aperture) magic . They're not saints, thats for sure.

damn! these things

they should go gunmetal on all the powerbooks. silver is almost out, black has never been out, gunmetal is that gorgeous blackish color. Ive seen great Calibri lighters that use it and ive always wanted a powerbook like it.
its so close to mixing the nice qualities of the metal and the black together. and better than annodizing am i correct?
also, if i had my preference, i think id have it pitted. bigger pits, maybe like rivets even? ala' the g5?
i think i would sell my powerbook right now and buy that one if it looked like that,
ajk

Funny, Safari is not displaying the site correctly, while Firefox does.

In Safari the category bar with "Tech Specs, Display, Wireless, etc. is all the way to the left.

Wazup with that?

That is definitely black, WTF? Is that a preview of things to come?

No, the PowerMac is clearly the lighting. At first that is what I thought too, but then it is obviously the Aluminum color.

actually, all they had to do was open dock prefs and make the dock smaller.

I think that PowerBooks should remain silver and that the iBooks should come in black and white.

Humor me, actually all they had to do was drag the little divider. The product pictures are actually separately created and then placed in the screen space of the product, if I'm not mistaken. It's just deceiving and I'm sure they know it. Someone had to design those graphics and they knew what they were doing.
