So is it a good deal if i trade my Iphone 5 for a samsung Galaxy 3? or should I ask for cash also?

iPhone 5 used is worth about $500 right now. He should give you an additional $100-150 cash because the S3 is only worth around $300-350 right now.

Also the value of the S3 is about to drop tremendously over the next few weeks so if you wait it will only be worth $200-250 by the end of April and you could get more cash out of the trade.

Sounds about right..I want the galaxy 4, Think i might sell my phone on ebay, use some of cash to buy s3 then when the galaxy4 come out sell the s3 and use the extra cash from iphone 5 sell to buy the s4?

I cant take this small screen anymore

Plus cash, like the others said.

I, like you, can't stand Apple's "large" screen and all its restrictions.

I am looking to get a Samsung galaxy S4.

Quick question is the galaxy s3 a gsm variant or cdma verison and i would suggest you wait for the s4 and if your on a gsm carrier you can always get a internatinal version, sadly for me I cant since I am on sprint I have to wait till a cdma version hits the states

Great trade, you'll get a much better phone and he gets an iphone

If you can get cash out the deal, even better!

Just dont understand why youd downgrade to a worse phone

You just opened a can of worms.
-bigger screen
expandable storage
-removable battery
-2 GB of ram
-1.9 mp front camera on the S3 > 1.2 mp front camera on the iPhone 5
-2100 mAh > 1440 mAh
-standard micro usb
-the ability to act as a portable drive

do a plus cash... Don't get f-Ed over the bad deal

It's still not an iPhone... So yea DOWNGRADE BOOP...

I too prefer the iPhone over android phones, though nowadays most of my android time is on the note 2. Was just wondering why we think of Samsung whenever considering an android device. HTC just launched the ONE, seemingly to the delight of most Tech reviewers. It looks really nice.

Exactly 100% correct.

The phone that can do MORE and do it well is always better than the phone that does fewer things.

So it's A HUGE upgrade.

If the one had samsung features it would easily be the best phone out

bigger screen doesnt make it better, its a low ppi pentile display which is much inferior to the retina display in the iPhone 5.

Expandable storage is good, but the phone not being a unibody makes it feel cheap

2 gigabytes of ram doesnt mean much when Android needs more resources to run as efficient as iOS

iphone 5 battery last longer then the S3 battery

lightning cable is better because you can do more with it

widgets are no big deal i never used any widgets when i had my GS3

it being open source also has ill effects, like the 23 apps in the top 500 section in Google Play was considered malware, there is malware everywhere and you need to be safe when on a Android. get a virus protector

Good points. I tend to agree.

Agreed, I would say IP5 to SIII plus min of $150, as the iPhone holds its value way better than other phones out there.

-bigger screen
Preference, doesn't make it better.

-expandable storage
Preference, doesn't make it better.

-2GB of ram
And yet the iPhone is more fluid and better at maintaining performance.

-1.9 mp front camera on the S3 > 1.2 mp front camera on the iPhone 5
This is somewhat true, but could be argued.

-2100 mAh > 1440 mAh
This means absolutely nothing, as iOS and Android handle battery life in a completely different way, also it's very dependent on the things you do with the Phone.

-standard micro usb
Preference, doesn't make it better.

-the ability to act as a portable drive
What? I don't even...

-widgets
-customization
These 2 are preferences aswell, doesn't make for a better phone.

Has nothing to do with the end-user unless you're a developer.

You might think it's an upgrade, I consider it a downgrade because the Phone doesn't offer me iCloud. I can't break an android phone and download the exact operating system I had back on to a new device without extra services. iOS has this built in, you might not need this.. but it's essential to me. It's all about opinion. He hasn't opened any can of worms, you just think what you want is the mainstream right now and that's supposedly what "everyone wants". It's not.

Dont you think this comes off as a little biased?!

You're trying hard to bash the samsung positives and play down the apple negatives.

Whats the point unless you can be fair?

So my post was biased, and his was not? Also yes my post is biased because I am using the phone that fits MY needs. Therefore this phone is BETTER for me.
So to me that's a downgrade. For him it's not but what counts for him, doesn't apply to all of us.

I hope these are used prices, that you are referring to

Your agurment is invalid . Everything the iPhone does the galaxy does plus a heck of a lot more.

And where have you been ? Android is just as polished and fluid as iPhone now

And android does have a iCloud like system via apps
