iPhone 15 Pro Max 15PM heating up after using camera

I find that after taking just a few shots(3-4) on my 15PM, the area to the left of the camera gets quite warm. Not uncomfortably hot but warm.

I just got the phone a week back and am on 17.1.1 I believe.

I've seen multiple others experience this as well.

Just wondering if it's a software or hardware issue ? If it's software related, anyone on the beta channel, have you seen this issue being resolved ?

Otherwise phone is fine with normal browsing, Netflix/Youtube and during calls.

Only other time phone gets a little warm is during fast charging till it reaches 80% which makes sense to me.

Interestingly, if I switch off Location access to the camera, it's not even warm. There's definitely something going on here with regards to software. My 2 cents....

iOS17 needs work that's for sure. I'm sure Apple will sort it out 6 months before iOS18 is released. 😂
