16.1 Astronomy wallpaper AOD lag/delay when waking

Since installing 16.1 I have noticed a delay of several seconds when waking iPhone 14 Pro Max with Astronomy wallpaper set and AOD on.

Dynamic Island is now occasionally deformed when locked as well with only half of the lock icon showing.

Anyone else noticing the same?

Yikes, perhaps you should give the 16.2 beta a go. Though I have noticed more recently with 16.2 that sometimes there is a wake delay with playback controls on the lock screen.

That might be it - I am noticing it when playback controls are on the lock screen as well. Pretty sure I have seen it without playback controls though.

Often seeing a 1 second+ delay when tapping to wake regardless if media controls are on the lock screen or not.
 
Hey! I have noticed the exact same thing here with my iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 16.1, and I can't seem to find other people online having the exact same problem, so you're a first.

It does not matter if media controls are on the lock screen or not. Also, that deformed lock on the Dynamic Island is driving me crazy.

My brother has an iPhone 14 Pro Max, I took his phone and tested it with the Astronomy lockscreen, and it shows the same problem. I guess people are not talking about it enough because it does not happen with other lockscreens.

Did you manage to find a solution?

Same is happening with display models in store. Astronomy wallpaper is causing lag and deformed AOD. Just have to wait for an update.

I’m having the same issue on mine too. I changed my Lock Screen and wallpaper to a regular background because it was bugging me do bad.
 
I think Beta 3 has resolved this, at least so far it has for me. No more freezing when tapping to wake or swiping up to unlock from a sleep state

Edit: issue seems to be back now, interestingly it seems to be a lot better when the device is connected to a charger :(

Edit: issue seems to be back now, interestingly it seems to be a lot better when the device is connected to a charger :(

Really annoying issue, hope they fix it. Only seems to affect astronomy wallpaper.

It’s still present in 16.2 Public beta 3
 
This was just fixed in iOS 16.2 Public Beta 4. Whoohoo

Edit. It’s not.

It’s fixed on 16.2 Beta 4, but only when wallpaper is enabled in aod settings, when you turn it off, it still lags
