16/256 or 8/512 M2 MBA

Ok I really don't want to get 16/512 - I already have a primary iMac. So if I'm going to spend the money, am I better going for extra SSD or memory?

Wait a month, and let the hardware revisions of the minor parts sort themselves out, then buy 16/512 and be happy with it for the next 10+ years.

Since you already have an iMac, get the base config on the M2 as it is more than enough for what you mentioned earlier. The forum got you scared for no real reason. Don't overthink the obvious.

It depends. If you like to store lots of stuff on the go, go for 512GB. Otherwise, go for 16GB/256GB.

This is a massive stretch. Even Apple doesn’t support their device for 10+ years.

How long do you plan to use this computer and should it be future-proof?

Which one is upgradable - drive space or RAM? (hint - external fast SSD)

If you have a primer iMac get the M1 MBA. Save cash.
