Does anybody have real world experience in terms of the 16-inch M2 Max's battery life? Do this year's improvements make its battery last as long as the 16-inch M1 Pro from last time around, or is that expecting too much?
Got mine earlier this week. Worked on it unplugged for the first time today. Started my day at 9am 100% battery life. It's almost 5pm now and I'm at 50% battery. I had it in lower power mode and the display at half brightness. This was while doing coding, web browsing, document/spreadsheet editing, messaging, and zoom meetings.
I think doing light tasks it’ll be a battery monster due to the greater number of efficiency cores compared to the M1 Max. Wouldn’t expect additional heat/battery drain unless you’re really pushing it to its limits 🙂
Apple's 2023 flagship, the MacBook Pro 16-Inch marries a proven, immaculate design with a fireball M2 Max CPU for fierce power in media creation, gaming, and high-end professional tasks. (Plus, it lasted nearly 27 hours on our battery test.)
I'd really like to know the direct effect of the three levels of cpu too 19/30/38, I originally oped for the 30 to balance, but perhaps the full 38 would have been ok.
