I recently started noticing that when I'm using my iPhone 16 Pro in a very quiet environment (in bed at night) I can hear a distinct electronic noise coming from it that sounds a bit like a kettle coming to boil, especially when the processor is under load. Coil whine I assume? I'm wondering if it has always done this and I just started noticing it? Otherwise I'm hoping there is not some impending failure or it's not going to explode. It could be a coincidence but I only started noticing it since iOS 26. Is that normal? Can a software update make it worse?

Yea seems like ios26 is just not bad bug wise. I just bought ip17pmax and had the same issue just like kettle is coming to boil and it was so loud it annoyed me so i took it to the shop and they sent it to service let's see if they just return it and say it's "normal". On the other hand i made a post about it to Apple forum and someone with ip17p said they can't hear these kind of noises so idk maybe not "normal". Btw i only heard it while opening and browsing Safari so idk weird.

So i found the problem that annoyed me the most which was the whistling in safari. It was caused by adblock plus for safari (ABP) and i don't know why but that was it. I tried removing safari extensions one by one and when i removed adblock the noise went away and when i installed it again the noise came back. Also adblock from different dev don't reproduce the noise so it is just that specific adblock, weird. I have noted the devs of the app and i don't know if it affects only me(certainly doesn't affect my old ip13pm). Maybe 17pmax is somehow more acoustic because the unibody block idk i found out that iPhone 7 models were suffering from coil whine. Service said that it wasn't a warranty issue, updated the phone(there was nothing to update i was already on latest ios) and billed me inspection fee, not happy about that but anyways now the issue seems to be "fixed" (by me).
