Ok so I’m personally on the fence $700 trade In with Apple for a new 17 Pro Max only lasts 1 week from launch then Apple drops it to $500 if you don’t go early.

Plus that new battery and 12GB RAM vs 8GB will really help AI and Gaming. And this will probably be our Last Qualcomm 5G Modem, we all remember the last time Apple didn’t use Qualcomm.

Why are you upgrading if you already have a 16 Pro Max ?

getting 17 pro max, handing over my 16 pro max to my spouse after trading her 14 pro max!

Keeping 16 pro max. Waiting to see what the C2 modem will be like. Pretty sure the 18 pro max or whatever they will call it will be way better. Probably will bring back a black option. I can wait 12 months. Plus the iPhone fold. Definitely holding out

I had no plans to upgrade from my 16 Pro Max to 17 Pro Max until I discovered on the 19th that with T-Mobile Go5G Next I get yearly upgrades and T-Mobile pays off my 16 PM balance so I placed the order for the 17 PM Orange. I was paying $8 monthly for the 16 PM and now, $4 for the 17 PM lol

Upgraded because VZ makes it too easy to upgrade. Also interested in the new color.

Going from 16 Pro Max to vanilla 17. I want smaller and lighter. Will get folding iPhone next year.

Between trading in my current Pro Max, using stockpiled Apple gift cards collected over the course of the year, plus the Apple Store veterans/military discount, getting a new iPhone every year is relatively minimal in terms of out of pocket cost.

Here is my secret strategy: buy a prepaid iPhone from Straight Talk and trade that in for the $800 credit. Then sell my old iPhone on Swappa or another site where I can get higher-than-trade value for it. It ends up covering the total cost of the phone, including the cost of the prepaid phone.

The battery life on my 16PM is garbage and it gets very hot and it doesn’t stay bright for long enough in direct sun. I can be 60% battery by 10am. No gaming or video. Just calls and productivity stuff. I have to plug it in multiple times a day. $700 trade in is a joke. I listed it for $1200 and I have 5 offers for $1000.

Hello, where did you list it?

Upgrading because I’m on AT&T Next Up Anytime and I’m getting $1100 trade in credit. My bill is going down because I only joined last years from a previous regular installment plan.

Yes, traded the 16PM silver for a 17PM orange. Why? Because it's there? Looks better with the cross-body camera unit, and saves me a bit on my monthly bill.

Faster CPU, GPU, Neural engine, better cameras.

That’s always enough for me. Those things always lead to a lot of nice quality of life improvements.

On top of that, there’s the anti-glare screen, better durability, increased RAM, and increased battery.
