Well, I’m just curious how many of you are using your 16 Pro or Pro Max without a case. I’ve been comparing it to my 15 Pro Max and this is the first time in years that I feel drawn towards not using a case.
I started looking more closely at the dimensions of the 16 Pro Max because I just can’t get over how well it fits in hand without a case. The phone feels better balance than last year’s 15 Pro Max and actually feels thinner in hand. I think it’s underrated how Apple was able to make the titanium band thinner compared to the 15 Pro Max. When I put them side-by-side, I was shocked at just how much of a difference there is.
It also feels like the new finish of the titanium is less slippery than last year. I can’t believe I’m actually considering not using a case. I might try those new phone back cases and still probably put on a screen protector because micro scratches drive me insane.
Also, as an aside, the new desert titanium color is amazing.
How was your experience using a naked iPhone?

I can’t stand screen protectors. It’s a personal thing, but to me they just feel off. For me a naked phone is a phone without a case or screen protector. Slap a screen protector on it and it’s no longer naked.

Used a 15 Pro Max no case all last year and am doing the same with the 16 Pro Max this year

Although I did like the 6.7in display better for one handed use, it’s fine. Still not too big for me to consider downgrading to the 6.3in Pro

There’s a thread on here that actually has people stating that the colors of the Pro phones make a difference in grip with the black titanium being the “grippiest”. I went into an Apple store and the black one titanium sides did have a different in feel and i would confirm it felt the same “grippiest”

Kinda wish I went with black this year instead of Desert Titanium due to this.

Last time I used a case was the iPhone 8 Plus. It was just too slippery to use naked. Ever since then (iPhone 11 Pro, 13 Pro, 15 Pro, 16 Pro) no case. No problem with grip and I actually dropped the 13 Pro a couple times but it survived.

I don’t and have not put a case on my iPhone in more than a decade. I ‘think’ I put one on the iPhone 4S for a day or two and then took it off. I simply prefer to go caseless with my iPhone.

I’ve been a huge fan of protectors because I mostly can’t stand scratches on my screens and because I use alcohol wipes to clean my devices every couple of days so I could just switch them out when needed. I’ve been case-less for a few days and so far so good.

I haven't used a case full time since the iPhone 4 bumper that I got for free lol...... I have been naked with just a screen protector for years... I say "full time" because I always keep a case around which I throw on occasionally when I am going somewhere that will require physical activity, a lot of moving, etc.... I like the Dessert Titanium color of the 16PM... However I am not fully sold on the back glass color, it looks too light pink to me sometimes. I do love the gold titanium color on the sides though.

I don’t use my 16 Pro Max without a case because I don’t need to and I don’t need the hassle of constantly going through insurance replacements. I see no benefit whatsoever for not using a case and prefer the feel of the phone in one.

I use a wallet case with a removable case for my phone. I have already dropped my 16 Pro Max on a concrete driveway and it was a hard hit. That won't be my last drop. I need a case. Yes, I have AC+ but the wait to get it fixed/replaced and then reloading all my stuff on it - nope, don't need that.
