Hello everyone,

I own a early 2011 15" Macbook Pro with an Intel core i7. I used to have 4gb RAM, but I just upgraded to 16gb. I purchased 16gb (8+8), and installed it. My computer and the GeekBench software only recognize 10gb though (in a 2gb+8gb pattern)?

What could be the problem?

Thanks!

Make sure both modules you installed are the 8GB ones. If they are try swapping them between the slots.

If the issue follows the memory module, you have a bad module. If it remains in the same slot, you possibly have a hardware issue with the Mac.
