Is that right? I've just got a replacement and it's saying a capacity of 12.1GB? I know on previous ones it's said ~14GB?

Hmm, check if anything is installed or if you accidentally synced it. You are correct, it should have about 14GB free.

It should be like 14.2GB free when you get it. It already comes with quite a bit of stuff on it.

It's saying it on both iTunes & the phone, so would this be some sort of horrific software coincidence or a hardware fault do you reckon?

Try restoring it as new? I have not a clue as to why it's only showing 12GB's they are supposed to average at about 14.3.

My 16GB Black iPhone always showed as 13.9 GB available but my white iPhone showed 14 GB available when I got it. Confusing. Muh.

It'll take an hour to download, so if anybody has any bright ideas in the next hour or so do let me know!

Edit: Done a bit of investigating: the capacity says 12.07 on iTunes (12.1 on the phone) but the coloured percentage meter thing on the bottom adds up to 14.1GB even though the figure on the left of that is 12.07GB. The 'free' is supposedly 2.2GB but it a tiny sliver (it says on the phone that 411MB is free), so I tried to sync a TV program (~800MB) and it wouldn't sync claiming the phone was full. Odd.

A restore might do it, if not, bring it back to the store!
