95% of the population is probably fine with 16gb. Macrumors is the exception, not the rule.

iphone 5 user with 16 gb here too.

I use my iphone for music, pictures and internet.

I don't like cramping all my music on my iphone as I would be clicking more "play next song" then actually listening on my ride to work or so...

Pictures are in the cloud and I wipe them periodically from my iphone.

internet gets wiped periodically.

apps that use a gb or more are not good apps. my apps are about money, information and sharing (mail, iMessage, twitter) nothing more.

Games, who has time for games? :p

And yes if you read this forum, 16 gb seems for losers here. But then I see these people with movies and games on their iphones and think "they have way too much time and that's how it feels to have no career"

I can certainly get by with 16 GB, but I won't be able to take my entire music collection with me. I welcome an increase in storage capacity for future iPhones.

I'm not ashamed, either!
I've had the 16GB since the 2nd generation phone (if they had a 16) but it was the basic one all the way to the iPhone 5!
No need to keep up with the Joneses neither do we need to feel inferior. What other people do wih their 64GB is none of our business. I'm just happy I have a 6 plus and I'm very content! #

That's great- whatever works for you. A least Apple caters to many users needs and not just one segment.

I don't store a lot of pictures, music, or video, and I don't like a lot of apps to meddle through. I keep only the core that I need and the rest come and go, especially with games.

I'll say it loud, I'm 16G and I'm proud!

Cool story....

16GB works great for me too, I couldn't imagine paying an extra $100 for space that i'll never use.

I use the $100 to get AppleCare anyway, works out perfectly!

The great thing is that 16GB doesn't work for everyone, so they have the option to pay for more.

I don't know how happy I would be if I paid for storage that was not increased like the 64 and 128. Apple should have started at 32 but instead chose to start at 16 and is charging the same for what should have been 32gb. 16gb is the new 8gb, more than likely you wont see it next year. For those that claim 16gb is just fine, good luck.

You actually took the time to make this a post..... Ummmm Ok. And yes, I took the time to respond but mostly as a mocking action.

Good for you.

And the need for you to mock him or her is needed because .......? Nevermind I can think of a few key words that would explain it.

I download about 30 apps and never download music or videos on my phone. Mostly use it for email and photos. I saw over the past 5 years that I average 50 photos a month freely taking burst photos and food porn pics :) each photo is 1.7 mb so I only use approx 1 gig on my camera roll a year and always start as a new phone each year. I think I only use 2-3 gb.

I used the extra $100 for apple care so I can use a half naked 6+ with out having a heart attack if it needs replaced.

I find that a 16GB iPhone is a good way to reduce distractions for me.

On my 16GB iPhone 6, I have completely zero games on it and only have iWork, Microsoft Office, OneDrive, a few other productivity apps and a few utility apps like Battery Doctor.

I find that it really keeps me away from distractions, because installing games on it would eat up all the storage.

Whenever I head to classes, I take my 6 with me and leave my 64GB 6+ at home. With the 6+, I keep finding myself playing games on it and not paying attention in classes (I know, my willpower's really weak).

Why should anyone be ashamed of spending their hard earned money? You bought the 16GB because it met your need for crying out loud...it does not mean the 64GB is superior:(

16 GB works for me. I have plenty of storage left. I did have 2nd thoughts after ordering it and reading all the comments here and in reviews about how worthless the 16 GB model is, but it was the right amount for me.

I have 5.9 used 5.9 free. I used to worry so much about it but in reality I barely do apps... I'm sure in 2 years when iphone 97 comes out and we are selling our 16gbs the bidders on eBay won't be that hypercritical...

Awesome OP.

I still think 16GB is ******** when Apple wants 5GB+ free for iOS updates though.
